Like a Father and a Son: Rabbi Avi Cassel of Olami at Our Seudah
Rabbi Avi Cassel of Olami joined our seudah to see the Center’s work up close — and left us with a message about how a son speaks to his father.

We were honoured and privileged to have Rabbi Avi Cassel, Executive Vice President & Managing Director of North America at Olami, join us for the seudah.
Rabbi Avi came because he wanted to see up close how our Center is reaching more and more people and bringing them closer to their Jewish roots. He was amazed and deeply moved to see so many people gathered together, and to experience first-hand the warmth, energy and impact of our community.
Rabbi Avi shared a beautiful and powerful message about our relationship with Hashem:
“A real connection to Hashem is like the relationship between a father and a son.”
When a son comes to his father, he doesn’t begin by asking for everything he wants. First, he recognises his father and says, “Thank you.” He appreciates everything his father has already given him — and then he can ask for what he needs.
That is our relationship with Hashem.
First, we say THANK YOU. Then we ASK.
Thank You, Hashem, for our lives.
Thank You for our health.
Thank You for our families and children.
Thank You for every blessing and every breath.
And then we can ask Hashem for more health, parnassah, success, children, and everything we need, so that we can serve Him better and accomplish more.
That is the real connection: recognise, appreciate, say thank you — and then ask.
Shana Tova U’Metukah!
